About Pete and Chris

Pete (Process) and
Chris (Content) are characters especially created by the Institute of Natural Business Excellence to illustrate in a very ordinary, accessible, recognizable, and entertaining way the daily situations process people and content people have to deal with. It shows their unique ways of looking at life, different approaches to situations that occur, and the ways how they co-operate (or don't co-operate) with each other. Pete and Chris teach us how to recognize and optimize everyday human resource matters within a company.

Process people and content people each have their unique ways of appreciating life and work, including handling situations in business and daily life.

Process people are typically less organized, easy going and live by feeling or 'sixth sense'. They get something done in whatever way they can think of while persistently working towards a specific goal. In private life they go with the flow.

Content people are typically quite organized, more individually minded, and live by rules, regulations and procedures. They will get something done according to a prepared path, step-by-step, whiling using their 'five senses'. In private life, and also in business life, 'seeing is believing' is their motto.

Within companies process people and content people function differently on strategic, tactical and operational levels. They both add value to a company in their different ways. Their continuous challenge is to work together as one team. For any company it is critical to recognize the two opposites of people. Ultimately together they determine the company's success or failure.

Alike people, activities in a company can be separated into process activities and content activities. Giving each person roles and responsibilities that naturally suit him/her is essential for having effective working staff and efficient business operations. Optimally process people are given process activities, and content people are given content activities.

Process/Content is the foundation of the Natural Business Excellence Framework™.
